House TriVista, Krasno

House Trivista is conceived as a contemporary interpretation of traditional mountain architecture, carefully positioned within the dramatic landscape of Krasno. The site is defined by a natural sinkhole, or vrtača, which becomes an important part of the spatial identity of the project and its relationship with the terrain. Three terraces extend the living spaces into the landscape: a sheltered northern terrace offers a comfortable outdoor retreat during the summer, while the southern terrace captures winter sun and opens towards panoramic views of Velebit. The kitchen is oriented towards the east, welcoming the morning light. The architecture is organised through a clear material contrast, with a solid stone base anchoring the house to the ground and a warm timber-clad upper volume creating a lighter, more contemporary expression. Together, these elements form a restrained composition that blends modern living with the material and spatial character of traditional local architecture.
