The Interpretation Centre of Culture and Science in Ogulin

The Interpretation Centre of Culture and Science in Ogulin is conceived as a spatial journey through the forces that have shaped both the landscape and the life within it.

Mountain, river, forest and cave form the four elements of the project. They are spatial and narrative worlds through which visitors move, observe, discover and imagine. The architecture creates a framework for encounters between nature, science, culture and human experience.

Through an immersive and interactive setting, the project reveals Ogulin as a landscape of deep connections: between the monumental presence of Klek, the hidden underground world, the movement of water and the dense life of the forest. Natural heritage becomes a living archive, interpreted through contemporary technologies, art and STEAM-based learning.

The centre is imagined as a place where knowledge is experienced rather than merely displayed, where local stories open towards wider questions, and where curiosity becomes the starting point for understanding the world.
