The Brdovec Integration Centre

The Brdovec Integration Centre is the first building to be realised within the Januševec masterplan, setting the civic and spatial framework for the future district.

Its L-shaped form brings together municipal services and public programmes around a new central square. The building combines open municipal offices, spaces for local associations, a library, coworking areas, a lounge, café and a multifunctional hall.

The square forms the social centre of the project. Inspired by the confluence of the Sutla and Sava rivers, it creates a landscape for everyday encounters as well as larger public events. Through opening façades, the multifunctional hall extends directly into the square, allowing architecture and public space to operate as one.

As the first realised element of the wider masterplan, the Integration Centre establishes Januševec as a new civic centre where administration, culture and everyday life intersect.
